Everyone should have a chance to live in another country. I'm an American who's lived in five countries and am currently living in France with my lovely French wife. This blog is about finding opportunities abroad and the challenges you'll face.

Finding a job in France
The website www.thelocal.fr has a nice introductory primer on Finding a job in France. They even have a few tips for non-EU nationals, but it's discouraging. The French, like many other countries, are closing their borders with the current economic issues. Plus, with the rise of the far right in France, it's not likely to get better sooner. But as I can personally attest, it's well worth the hassle if for nothing else than some of the best food you'll ever enjoy.

I'm looking for work right now in IT. My best advice is to check out Les Jeudis on-line and get your profile up on Viadeo (not just on LinkedIn). The former is really where French companies, the latter is better for international companies.
ReplyDeleteVictoria - how did this go for you? Did you find a job? Did you get the Blue Card? I'm also in IT and am thinking about going back to Europe (am currently in Brazil). Thanks! - Jeff
